4 Downs to Anger Control Workbook© 1999 by Tom Letson. All rights reserved. Scouting Report: Problem Anger Do you think your anger is causing you problems? Do you think that learning some skills to control your anger may help you at home and school? Before a football team plays an opponent, the coaching staff "scouts" the other team and makes a list of that team’s strengths and weaknesses to study as they prepare a game plan to defeat them. The same approach is helpful when dealing with anger. By "scouting" your anger, you are reviewing situations in the past in which you became angry in order to make a list of the strengths and weaknesses of how you express your anger. To defeat your problem anger, you have to know what areas are problems. Describe recent situations in which you have become angry and the way you expressed that anger resulted in problems. Be prepared to discuss your answers.
